Former Adams Township Clerk Stephanie Scott knew the dismissal of the felony charges in April 2026 could be appealed. In late July, Attorney General Dana Nessel did just that. Now Scott is again facing prison time for doing what she believe was her duty as township clerk to protect election data.

President Trump announced the release of thousands of documents that reveal foreign interference in U.S. elections, government suppression of information about election vulnerabilities and presence of non-citizens on U.S. voter rolls.

Michigan's Bureau of Elections is redesigning its election data reports, no longer including important information. MFEI is suing the state for the complete data file. The State has asked a judge to dismiss the case, saying it does not have in its possession the requested records.
