A Thanksgiving Message to Supporters of Michigan Fair Elections Institute

Dear Friends and Fellow Patriots,

As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on the deeper meaning of this cherished American tradition. The Pilgrims who celebrated that first harvest in 1621 understood something profound: gratitude flows not just from abundance, but from the courage to persevere through hardship, and from the fellowship of those who share a common purpose. They gave thanks not only for what they had received, but for the opportunity to build something enduring for future generations.

That spirit echoes through our work at the Michigan Fair Elections Institute. Each person who has joined this mission shares a similar eureka moment. One day, each of us realized that the health of our nation's elections—the very foundations of our constitutional republic and our voices in it—were in jeopardy. We faced a choice: to look away, or to step forward.

President John F. Kennedy’s words rang true for the amazing individuals in this organization: "Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country." The people of MFEI are those who have answered that call. You are the heroes who chose to act.

As I look back on this year's accomplishments—the investigations we've conducted, the educational resources now available in MFEI’s free library, the relationships built coalition partners across the nation and with clerks across Michigan, the presentations delivered in counties statewide, the litigation support provided, the volunteers trained, and the awareness raised about threats like Ranked Choice Voting and the Secretary of State’s Rule Sets—I am filled with profound gratitude.

We've built Chapter networks across Michigan. We've empowered citizens to improve voter roll hygiene through our DEEP team and Soles to Rolls initiatives. We've educated thousands through our communications platforms. We've developed tools and resources that equip citizens from all walks of life to become effective advocates for election integrity. We've testified in legislative hearings, spoken at county meetings, and brought clarity to complex issues.

But the real story isn't in any single achievement. It's in the collective power of regular citizens who chose to become extraordinary in their dedication to our republic. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. And together, we have done—and continue to do—remarkable things.

To every volunteer who has given hours to research, to every Chapter Leader who has organized their community, to every partnering organization, to every donor who has made this work possible, to every person who has simply shared our message: Thank you. It is an honor to stand alongside such devoted, talented patriot warriors. Your commitment and your contributions—whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes—are building a legacy of integrity that will serve Michigan for generations to come.

This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for you. Grateful for your courage, your dedication, your contributions of time and treasure, and your unwavering commitment to the principles that make our nation exceptional. Together, we are not solely defending our elections—we are strengthening the bonds of citizenship—the bonds that hold together our republic, our freedoms, our unalienable rights, and our families.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

With deepest gratitude and warmest regards,

ree
