Belated: Happy Thanksgiving

Friend,

I was trying to think of the just right words to wish you a meaningful Thanksgiving, and the time slipped past. A heartbreaking funeral. Turkey dinner. Touching family moments. I woke this morning to a twinge of regret for missing the opportunity to express my gratitude to you and other MFE and PIME supporters. Then, while catching up on text messages, this short video from Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, was waiting for me from Mark McKeel.

Below is the perfect message from the perfect spokesperson. Happy Thanksgiving holiday weekend to you and yours:

Watch: This short video featuring Larry P. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College, talks about the importance of Thanksgiving and takes a moment to acknowledge the blessings of liberty.

‘Sanctus’ from Fauré’s Requiem

The Sanctus has been a part of the Mass from the first century AD and its Jewish roots go back even farther. The first part of the chant is based upon Isaiah 6:3 and Daniel 7:10. The second part is based on Mt 21:9. The chant unites our voices with those of the saints and angels in heaven into one song of praise of God.

SANCTUS, Sanctus, Sanctus, Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua. Hosanna in excelsis. Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini. Hosanna in excelsis.

HOLY, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
