Gretchen Whitmer, for nearly 500 days, has used a delay tactic to suppress the vote in the state's 35th Senate District. She's not the only one to use the tactic, but this election is an obvious black mark on her record.

For more than seven months, voters in District 35 have had no representation in the state Senate. Seven citizens from the district filed a lawsuit August 10, demanding the Governor of Michigan perform her constitutional duty and fill the vacancy.

HJR-B, amending the state constitution to require proof of citizenship to register and a photo ID to cast a vote, faces stiff opposition.
